French Guiana. Nouragues Field Station. 100 km SSW of Cayenne and 40 km SW of Regina, ca. 7 km from Saut Pararé on the Arataï River. At junction of trails H and 19 on the petit plateau.

Description
Saprophyte (mycoheterotroph). Flower 12 cm long from ground to top, 3.5 cm wide at top. Throat 1.5 cm diam. at widest, 0.6 cm at narrowest, dark maroon, throat cadmium yellow inside and out, lobes white inside. Sutile and sweet aroma. Anthers connate, pale yellow; filaments pale yellow.
