Habitat
Semi-deciduous forest with many lianas. Humus of topsoil up to 20cm deep. Average of 1500m/y rain.

Description
Tree, 40m tall. Few swollen points on bole. Usually unbuttressed; small buttresses sometimes in old trees. Creamy-yellow hardwood. Very spongy, thick, rough, bitter bark. Slash orange with purple tint, or pink. Leaves simple, crenate margin, glandular, some hairs in domatia. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
