Habitat
Willow fen in alpine-subalpine ecotone with large stands of Picea glauca at the head and enclosing numerous samll fen ponds, ending in a low saddle with two large ponds filled at the inlet with Carex aquatilis; a very popular hiking trail to Bierstadt crosses the lower part by raised wooden foot-paths. On peaty sides of sedge tussocks.
