Dr. N. L. Britton,
New York Botanical Garden,
Bronx Park, New York City.
Dear Doctor Britton:
There was received from Doctor Small two or three days
ago a lot of 19 mounted ferns from Florida, which evidently
were sent with a view to their identification, although no
letter of transmittal has been received.
I have written in the identifications, and the speci-
mens are being returned to the New York Botanical Garden,
by express. One of the species represented« Polypodium
brasiliense Poir*, is an addition to the United States fern
flora, and I have taken the liberty of removing a single
pinna for our herbarium; this is accessioned as an exchange.
