    Colombia. Antioquia. Zaragoza Mun. Vic. Planta Providencia 28 kms SW of Zaragoza. Valley of Río Anorí, approx. 3 km upriver from Planta Provedencia. Along Quebrada la Sarmiento, a stream entering the Río Anorí about 1 km downstream from Quebrada la Tirana.

  • Habitat

    Primary/old secondary forest on NW facing slope in the hills of east side of river. Tropical wet/very wet forest transition zone. Rainfall approx. 4400mm/year.

  • Description

    Tree, 4 m., all lvs. at top of trunk, bark dark brown with yellow color to phloem & knobby where frts. or flrs. have fallen. Frts. cauline, the brown color of a bosch pear with are yellow flesh & a single seed. Chewed on by some animal. The lvs. appear very palatable to some animal or insect. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
