Could not locate any clearly marked side-roads branching from BR-101 to the left approximately 11 km along the road from Ubaitaba towards Itabuna; however, it is highly possible that the side-road described here does exist and is merely visually obscured due to exceptionally poor satellite image resolution in this area (Google Maps). Therefore, georeferenced to the approximate location of the entrance to this side-road (as indicated in the locality description), 11 km along BR-101 from Ubaitaba towards Itabuna, in Mun. Itacaré, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located Ubaitaba, Itabuna, and BR-101. Beginning at the point along BR-101 closest to the approximate geographic center of the city of Ubaitaba (-14.3087992 -39.3221712), used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to measure approximately 11 km (11.0012 km) along BR-101 towards the city of Itabuna (S). Using Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs, found coordinates for the offset. Using Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) again, estimated the linear extent of the starting location of the offset, the city of Ubaitaba, by measuring from the chosen starting coordinates near the center of the city to the farthest extent of the city. Input coordinates, linear extent (1.63681 km), measurement error (0.0005 km), and distance precision (1 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: offset along a path).
