Habitat
Open pasture on level, clayey ground adjacent to rather open forest dominated by Pentaclethra macroloba (50% of basal area).

Description
Tree, ca. 20 m x 38 cm. Flowers yellow. A single capsule found, 10 cm diameter. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

States that a a single empty capsule was found.

Collection Notes
large, imbricate calyx-lobes, the calyx and hypanthium are glabrous and dry dark reddish-brown. The style has an annular ring toward the apex.
