Aspect NE. Slope 50°. Mixed coniferous forest of Pseudotsuga menziesii, Pinus contorta, Abies bifolia, & Picea engelmannii. Associated species include Juniperus communis, Ribes sp., Sorbus scopulinum, Carex geyeri, & Vaccinium sp. Plants occasional along road cut. Substrate mostly granitic.

Flowers copper-colored & saucer-shaped. Shrubs to 1 m tall. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
