Habitat
Slightly degraded campo cerrado. Shrubs and small trees twisted by former fires, forming an open thicket. Ground cover of grasses and herbs. Campo cerrado on upland (or occasionally forest). Open marsh on dense secondary forest along streams. Soil poor, light reddish-brown fine sand with a little clay.

Description
Shrub, trunk 5 cm diameter at base, plant 2.5 m tall. Buds pink-purple, flowers white or tinged with light violet, fragrant. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
