    Abandoned cultivated field, originally cerrado. Dense growth of shrubs to 2 m. Ground cover of grasses, herbs & ground vines. Soil poor, reddish-brown fine sand, with a little clay.

    Herb with thick woody root. Petals & stigmas light violet, anthers purple. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
