Description
gregarious. Pileus 3-7 cm broad, sharply conic, expanding to plano-conic, viscid, soon dry, radially silky fibrillose, bright yellow (2A6) with some pale orange tones (4A6), becoming black when handled or bruised. Flesh yellow, watery, blackening when exposed, with mild odor and taste. Lamellae adnexed, white, soon gray then black, with even to uneven edges. Stipe 13-27 cm long, 8-10 mm broad, equal to somewhat broader below, twisted fibrous, white to bright yellow at apex, becoming orange (4A8) with age, white toward base, blackening with handling and bruising, white at base; interior white to yellow, blackening with exposure, hollow. Phenology of specimen: basidiomata.
