Habitat
Open, flat grazed sagebrush scrub with occasional Pinus monophylla. With Artemisia tridentata, Purshia tridentata, Avhranherum hymenoides, Leptodactylon pungens, Chrysothamnus viscidiflorus, Cryptantha confertiflora/. Common, widely spaced on flats and slopes. Soft, deep pumice soil with occasional rhyolite outcrops.
