  • Habitat

    Tropical dry forest. Quercus oleoides with Pinus caribaea nearby. Scattered. On sandy soil.

  • Description

    Pileus 2-3.5 cm broad, convex to plano-convex, dry, tomentose to subtomentose, white with pale orange (6B5), becoming pale yellow (4A4, 4A3), with sterile projecting margin when young. Flesh white, unchanging, with mild odor and taste. Tubes adnexed, white at first, soon pinkish gray (6D4), unchanging when exposed; pores concolorous, unchanging. Stipe 5-8 cm long, 8-10 mm broad, equal to subclavate or slightly broader below, terete, dry, lacerate to lacunose-reticulate, white to pale yellow, with some very pale pink tints at apex when young; reticulum white to very pale pink when young, soon pale yellowish to pale greenish yellow with age, with white basal mycelium; interior white, solid, unchanging. With purplish brown spore print.
