Remnants of chaco forest, with Phyllostylon rhamnoides, Acanthosyris falcata, Aspidospermum quebracho-blanco, Ruprechtia triflora, with small temporary roadside pond, surrounded by pastures and cultivated fields. Flat, clay soil.

Herb or shrublet 1.3 m tall. Flowers nodding; corolla white with yellow-green spots. Fruit abundant, bright red-orange.
