Choi, 1996 Shuma kubn [Mayan (Yucatec)] Obel, Santa Maria [Spanish] Cowfoot [English] leaves+roots+stems Analgesic, for toothache. roots and stems Preventative, of tooth abcess. Boil 2 roots in 1.5 qt of water for 10-15 min. with a 6’ piece of stem. Wash the gums every 30 min. until no pain. Contraindication: don’t use if pregnant. leaves Antirheumatic. Heat leaves for rheumatism. Place directly on the back twice daily. Avoid cold water baths, leaves+stems Edible. Stems eaten like celery and leaves ; ; cooked as vegetable, stems Tea. Boil stems in water. Drink as a ?* refreshing tea. young leaves Antihelmintic. for red worms. Make tea with young leaves for worms (re ® worms). Pour 2 cups of boiling water on 9-12 young leaves, cover till lukewarm. Wash leaves before making tea. Can add cold milk -3/4 tea, 1/4 milk. Give 1 cup 3xday every other day.
