N.W.'of Serra Dourada. Disturbed deciduous
forest, cultivation and marshy area with rice
fields.

Shrub to 2 m. with stipular spines. Leaves
pale green. Calyx dark buff. Stamens deep
golden yellow, sweetly and strongly perfumed
of vanilla. Fruit pale green, turning dark
brown when ripe.
