Flat sandy. Pastured former savanna with forest islands with Curatella americana, Samanea tubulosa, Attalea phalerata (and a few Syagrus sancona, Schefflera morototoni, Schoepfia tetramera.

Description
Shrub 1-2.5 m tall in open pasture. Flowers odorless, open (12:00 noon, overcast and cool), very showy with bright red stamens in a powder puff. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
