Georeferenced to the approximate geographic midpoint of the beach/restinga area of the neighborhood of Piedade in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Pernambuco, Brazil. Used Google Maps - Earth and Map Views to locate the beach/restinga area of Piedade (spatial extent provided by Google Maps). Used the Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool to measure a straight line between the approximate start of the restinga/beach area of Piedade (at: -8.191676, -34.918131) and the approximate end of the beach (at: -8.154989, -34.909252), then halved this distance to find the midpoint of the line. Chose a point along the shore of Piedade nearest to the midpoint of the line; used the Google Maps – What's Here Tool to find the coordinates of the approximate geographic midpoint of the shore. Used the Google Maps – Measure Distance Tool again to find the linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the beach area. Input coordinates, coordinate source (locality description), datum (WGS84), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees), extent of named place (2110 m), and measurement error (10 m) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: River, stream, road, path).
