    Plants rhizomatous perennials, to 1 m tall; flowers actinomorphic; sepals pale greenish-purple with wide white margins; petals white; fruits slightly compressed perpendicular to the septum, dehiscent at maturity; ovules 1 per locule. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
