Habitat
Ravines. In mixed pine-hardwood forest region.

Description
Coarse, soft-wooded, several-stemmed shrub to 4 m. tall. Rays mostly ca. 5, lemon-yellow, containing anthochlors only along the veins. Disk yellow, turning red, containing anthochlors. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
