    White sand restinga with terrestrial bromeliads and orchids, small trees and scrubby vegetation.

  • Description

    Vining bamboo with clumps of 3 or 4 narrow solid culms that climb into the trees at 4 m, cover them and hang from them in festoons. All plants in flower with no new growth, even the smallest shoots with spikelets. Spikelets green when young but becoming very dark, almost black. Stamens and stigmas produced simultaneously in the spikelets, with the white stigmas exserted below and the dark brown stamens hanging from the apex. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.

White sand restinga with terrestrial bromeliads and orchids,
small trees and scrubby vegetation. Vining bamboo with
