  • Description

    Tree ca. 20-25 m tall, dbh 0.8 m; ramification of branches similar to that of Combretum; at the time blooming with inflorescences exposed on upper "surface" of crown; inflorescence axes and pedicels greenish-light brown; flowers slightly scented; calyx outside yellowish-light brown, later on wine-red, inside between centre and corolla-scale wine-red, distal part of teeth (including corolla-scale) yellowish-light brown, slightly wine-red tinged; ovaries and stigmata light green; young fruits on a long, brown stalk, composed of three greenish-light brown, separate carpidia; old fruits brown, collected from the ground.
