Habitat
Western face sandstone serra with horizontally bedded rocks. Extensive grassland and marsh on lower slopes and small streams with low woodland. Rock outcrops at higher altitudes, with humid forest in rocky declivity below summit.

Description
Erect subshrub to 20 cm. or more. leaves sericeous grey-green above, grey-green below. Calyx tube deep red. Corolla deep pinkish purple. Anthers pink. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
