Habitat
Along the rim of the lake. Hesperopeuce Mertensiana occurs almost exclusively, there being a few trees of Pinus albicaulis on the crest of the rim. There are practically no undershrubs, except infrequent clumps of elder and prostrate mats of Ribes erythrocarpum. In sandy soil.
