Habitat
Small stream with marsh on white sand and surrounding cerrado on sandstone rock exposures.

Description
Spindly shrub to 3 m., often small. Leaves dull green above, paler beneath, rugose. Upper parts of stem glaucous with waxy bloom, and with usually only one swelling. Calyx dark purple. Corolla deep reddish-purple, paler with dark lines at base of upper lobes. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
