Montane forest with Weinmannia, Clethra, Desfontainea, Miconia.

Description
Rhizomatous, subshrub, to 3 dm tall; leaves clustered near apex. Pedicels and calyx green, sometimes suffused red; calyx sharply, but narrowly winged. Corolla essentially urceolate, but base conspicuously swollen, the throat narrowed; corolla reddish-orange, the lobes green in bud but white at anthesis. Rare. [Photo; pickled; DNA; wood].
