Habitat
Not found below 3800 m. here but to 3650 m. along autopista to El Alto airport on NW side of La Paz. Common. On gravelly roadsides.

Description
Shrubs 1-2 m. tall; much-branched, the stems woody, to 5 cm. thick; smaller stems green, with dark purple on insolated side; plants not at all viny but aspect not unlike that of sect. Dulcamara. Leaves, at least the older ones, hanging, and the margin undulate, with little odor when crushed. Flowers abundant; inflorescence with slight fetid odor; corolla blue-purple, the face vertical or usually nodding; anthers yellow. Fruit green, on reflexed pedicels, some shriveling and turning red-orange. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
