Description
Culms erect, about 1.5 cm basal diameter, to 3-4 m tall. New shoots with the internodes glaucous, becoming yellowish with age; internodes 12-15 cm long. Culm leaves deciduous as the branches develop. Branching extravaginal; central bud not very large; subsidiary branches of two sizes; subsidiary buds numerous, in 2-3 rows; the more robust subsidiary branches are longer than the finer, leafy subsidiaries. All vegetative. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
