Description
Vine over fence and shrubs. When first observed ca. 21 Dec. 1997, no female flowers but many immature dark green fruits and the main flush of male flowers. Now the fruits turning purple-black and disappearing in the last week with a final flush of male flowers. Collected 7:00 P.M., flowers spicy fragrant and fully open, 3 cm wide; corolla lobes with pale yellowish margin, green star; anthers light yellow; fruit yellow-green within, the sap clear, the seeds 5, pale brown, in nearly dry cavity. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
