United States of America. Louisiana. Catahoula Parish. Sicily Island, an isolated Tertiary upland; southern portion of the "island", which is capped with loess.

Habitat
Deeply dissected uplands; sandstone exposures along streams and on slopes. With pine-oak forest on ridges and beech -magnolia in ravine bottoms. On larger sandstones boulders on slopes; lacking on smaller boulders.
