Brazil. Bahia. Mouth of the Rio do Peixe or Rio Itanhen, just south of Porto Seguro.

Mangrove swamp and associated grassland, with open tidal water.

Description
Shrub to ca 3m. Leaves rather yellow-green above, grey-green beneath.calyx glaucous-green. Petals clear yellow at first, soon turning pinkish-orange. Staminal column yellow. This plant a characteristic shrub of open areas at the back of the Mangroves. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
