Habitat
Primary forest on terra firme, mostly level terrain, deeply dissected by a few large streams; canopy open, as is much of understory. Guadua sarcocarpa beginning to dominate again in places approx. 12 years after dieback.

Description
Tree. Tree 18 m x 14 cm, flowers oriented downward, perianth dull green, androecium yellow. Outer bark smooth, thin, inner bark tan, fibrous. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
