United States of America. Nevada. Washoe Co. Steamboat Springs. Near Highway 395, 1 mile south of the intersection of it and Highway 17; These plants were collected east of Highway 395, it also grows on the otherside of the highway a little farther south.

Habitat
Growing in tufa. With Astragalus purshii var. tinctus, Erigeron aphanactis, Sarcobatus vermiculatus, Atriplex confertifolia and Chrysothamnus nauseosus. Locally abundant.

Largest mat was 19 inches in diameter. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
