Sunny patches, level ground and talus below cliffs along NE side. Mixed evergreen forest. Locally frequent.

Description
Sterile shoots to 2 m; calyx and bracts golden yellow; corolla bright yellow, spicy fragrance; mature fruit black, valves dehising from base, calyx present, bright golden yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
