Location

Peru. Amazonas. Chachapoyas Prov. Chachapoyas-Molinopampa road, just above Pipos; 35.7 km E of Chachapoyas and ca. 7 km W of Molinopampa.

Habitat

Open areas of white sands from weathered granite boulders.

Description

Shrub to 2 m tall. Corolla dark magenta, large; petals imbricate, but spreading distally. Locally common. [Plants pretreated with EtOH.] [Pickled].
