Habitat

Primary forest on terra firme, steep hills deeply dissected by many small streams. Canopy discontinuous, many trees exceeding 30 m, understory with dense herbaceous layer, some large young stems of arborescent bamboo. Frequent.

Description

Tree. Tree 30 m x 70 cm, broad crown, outer bark dark brown, pitted, relatively thick, somewhat flaky, inner bark with broad white and beige striations. Immature fruits slightly obovoid. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
