Georeferencing Method
Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012. Georeferenced to the geographic center of the junction of Rio Negro and Rio Solimões. Using Google Maps, located the junction of Rio Negro and Rio Solimões nearby Manaus, Amazonas. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the approximate geographic center on adjacent land between the meeting of the rivers. Used measurement tool (Google Maps) to measure linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the furthest extent of the intersection. Input coordinates, linear extent (6084.07 m.), and measurement error (.01 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Named Place: Junction, Intersection, Crossing).
