United States of America. Idaho. Clearwater Co. Clearwater National Forest, Clearwater Mountains between Little North Fork and North Fork Clearwater rivers. Plants abundant on road cut along road from Aquarius CG to Smith Ridge, ca. 100 yds east of ridge saddle and trailhead to Mallard Larkins Pioneer Area.

Habitat
With Salix scouleriana, Acer glabrum, Alnus sinuata and numerous additional plants of this species with highly variable flower color and leaf margins. Surrounding forest of Abies lasiocarpa, Picea engelmannii, Tsuga mertenisiana and Abies grandis. Abundant. Soil coarse, derived from quartzite of the Belt Series of Precambrian rock.

Description
Flower of this specimen medium to deep blue; leaves prominently toothed (unlike most other specimens in this population: those with medium to deep blue flowers tend to have the leaf margins prominently toothed. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
