Brazil. Bahia. Collected at the Lyon arboretum, Honolulu Hawaii, from rhizomes from the collection of Roberto Burle Marx, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil, originally brought from Bahia.

Description
Herb 0.8-1.5 m. Leaves grass-green above, pale grey-green below. Pulvinus olove-green, petiole green, sheath green or tinged purple. Bracts waxy, sky blue. Sepals and corolla white. Outer staminode lavendar, callose and cucullate staminodes white below, lavendar above. Style white. Seeds grey with white aril. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
