Habitat
Bouteloua grassland, with shrubs and small trees (e.g. Acacia, Mimosa, Opuntia, Jatropha dioica) locally abundant. A few plants in the shade of north-facing rocks.

Prostrate, vinelike; flowers dull yellow with brown spots alternating with the sepals; anthers purple. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
