Description
Pileus 3.5-5 cm broad, dry, subvelutinous if at all, dull, even or sometimes subrugulose, convex to plano-convex to plane with a depressed disc, dark gray brown (7F4), occasionally with pallid ochraceous patches. Latex white, mild, staining tissues pink. Flesh white, up to 6 mm thick, changing to pink when exposed. Lamellae adnex to subdecurrent, crowded, thin and narrow, white to yellowish white, staining pink from exuded latex, with even edges. Stipe 4-6 cm long, 10-12 mm thick, equal, dry, glabrous, nearly concolorous with pileus but paler, white at base, somtimes concolorous with lamellae at apex, with interior white changing to pink when exposed.
