Slender, stems 3 m. tall; 8 leaves in crown, 5 dead ones below, then stem clean; fruiting; inflorescence 5 nodes below lowest dead leaf, red with dark green to nearly black fruit; several stems of different height in a clump. Gathered for thatch, the smal.
