Description
Turning reddish brown where handled in all parts. Stipe 5-8cm long x 1-1.2cm wide, stuffed to hollow, often with annulus that is evanescent, slight expanded toward base, squamulose except toward pileus. Pileus 3.5-5cm diameter with striate margin, center slightly elebated and rounded, densely covered with brown squamulae, these scattered toward ± striate margin. Gills free of stipe. Spores 7.2-9 x 5.4-8 µ (x 10 = 8.0 x 5.69µ), thick-walled with lens-shaped germ pore opposite apiculus smooth, non-amyloid, although some are reddish, some with 1 oil droplet. Hyphae ± inflated, s clamps. Phenology of specimen: Basidiomata.
