Subalpine meadow in spruce forest; rocky (15% exp.), open (25% cover), 20% slope, west facing. With dominants: Poa epilis, Erigeron speciosus Erythronium; also with Stellaria jamesii, Poa sandbergii, Agoseris glauca, Picea engelmannii. Loamy soil, dry.
