    Forest on relatively level terrain behind levee, flooded supra-annually. Canopy discontinuous in places, understory with high density of Heliconia and Marantaceae. In secondary vegetation.

    Fleshy terrestrial herb, single leaf 2 meters tall, inflorescence slightly sunken below ground level, fruits pale green with blue-purple spots, beginning to fall from axis. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
