    A letter from Holzinger in Winona MN to Mr. W is included on sheet. Holzinger laments the loss of one of Grout's specimens, which belonged to the set. He also indicates that the old and new fruit on THIS specimen "show clearly [its] right to a distinct species." Old nomenclature is listed too: Bartramia menziesii Turn. var. N260 of Sull. & Lesq. exsiccati, B. menziesii var. baueri (Hampe) Renauld & Cardot, Glyphocarpus baueri Hampe.
