    Campo de altitude. Somewhat rocky, soil organic, acidic, rich.

  • Description

    New shoots are 1.5 m tall, and leafy culms are ca. 1 m tall; plants grazed. Culms erect, to ca. 1 cm in diameter. Internodes purplish, 6-8 cm long, glaucous, this wearing off. Branching intravaginal; one larger central branch flanked by 2-4 smaller subsidiary branches on each side, all branches developing simultaneously. Foliage leaf blades fairly wide, green, tough. Culm leaves persistent. All vegetative. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
