Caatinga. With more open vegetation including extensive area of Vellozia. On sand and with quartizitic rocks & metamorphosed sandstones forming rock area.

Description
Shrub to 1.75 m. Leaves with coriaceous leaflets, dark green above, pale beneath. Flowers with green sepals, dark crimson petals and a dark crimson-black ovary. Stamens with dark red filaments and yellow anthers. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
