Description
Tree; stem 2 feet thick; wood rather soft, whitish except the reddish heartwood; bark mottled; leaves coriaceous, slightly conduplicate on the upper side, with recurved tips, shining dak green above, paler beneath; flowerstalks greenish; flowers odorless, early falling; perianth deep red; filaments much paler; anthers also reddish before anthesis. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
