Description
Erect tree, 10-15 m high; trunk 1 foot in diameter, branched toward the top; branches forming a more or less round topped crown; the branchlets quite slender but not numerous; wood white, only the very center of old trees reddish, rather easily cutting through and very hard to split; bark reddish except the brown surface, smooth and gray upon the branches; leaves coriaceous, flat, spreading or only the tips recurved, shining bottle green on the upper surface, much duller and paler beneath, its nerves yellowish-green; inflorescences yellowish-green; ovaries covered with minute yellowish semiviscid glands; inner side of stigma bright flame red. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
